Article: If you're a sucker for a hot "bowl of red," we've got good news for you. Indianapolis-based Charlie & Barney's chili restaurants are coming to Fort Wayne.
The company announced last week that its latest expansion plans could bring as many as seven Charlie & Barney's restaurants -- and more than 100 jobs -- to the Fort Wayne area. A real estate broker is scouting sites for the franchise locations.
Charlie and Barney's, founded in 1977, offers variations on the chili theme, including beef, turkey and veggie chilis, chili with spaghetti, chili pie, chili with franks, walking tacos and chili dogs. A fix-it bar allows customers to dress up their chili with extras such as sour cream, cheese and jalapeno slices.
The menu also includes hamburgers, chicken fingers, tenderloin sandwiches, grilled chicken sandwiches, chicken Caesar salad, taco salad and breakfast items.
